Let’s Build Beds, a local organization which provides children in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan a safe and comfortable place to sleep, have partnered with Cherry Street Mission ministries workforce development to prepare materials used to build the beds.

Commissioners launch benefits bridge program

Missing Holland man’s body found in Jerusalem Twp.

The Lucas County sheriff’s office has recovered the body of a missing Holland resident. On April 24, deputies responded to a call for service regarding a possible body in the water at Anchor Pointe Marina in Jerusalem Township.

County Democratic Party elects committee chair

On April 18, the Lucas County Democratic Party elected Schuyler Beckwith as the new chair of the organization at a central committee meeting. With a background in community activism and political engagement, Beckwith brings experience to the leadership role.

Child Memorial recognizes those lost too soon

On April 18, Lucas County Children Services hosted its annual Child Memorial near its offices in downtown Toledo. LCCS staff, elected officials and community partners gathered to remember the 14 children who lost their lives in the past year due to child abuse, neglect or community violence.

On April 18, Crissey held their Family Literacy Night. The theme was “Space Escape Room.” It was an evening of fun, as families got a chance to solve challenges in each grade level escape room.
