BETTY J. SAMPSEL

Betty J. Sampsel, 92, of Toledo, passed away September 22, 2023. She was born April 28, 1931, to George and Mildred (Nulf) Shoemaker in Toledo. On July 5, 1952, she married Clarence Zwolinski. They moved from Toledo, to Goetzville, Michigan, until they moved to Rogers City, where she worked as a secretary at several local businesses.

She and Clarence raised three children, Suzan (Ren) Pilarski, Daniel (Shelly) and Mark (Lauren) all of Rogers City, Michigan.

She is survived by her three children, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Clarence Zwolinski and Jack Sampsel; her parents, George and Mildred Shoemaker, and siblings, William Shoemaker and Barbara Vaculik.

Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Burial will be at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park next to her late husband, Jack Sampsel.

Walker Funeral Home, Holland-Springfield Chapel, handled arrangements.
